New warehouse opens in the UK bringing jobs to the local community and strengthening the business and trade between Malaysia and the UK
Just in time to celebrate Ramadan, OMalaysia opens its biggest UK-based warehouse, stocked to the brim with Malaysian products.
OMalaysia is overjoyed to announce that the larger warehouse is now fully stocked with Malaysian products, which will be available to purchase from 1st April 2022.
Based in Leicester, the large warehouse, which spans 10, 000sq feet and includes refrigeration facilities, has created several jobs for the local community, employing four new team members.
The new team have been busy unpacking authentic and traditional Malaysian food products, such as Nasi Lemak, Kerepek Basah, Ketupat, Lemang and Pineapple Tarts.
Having a UK-based warehouse will reduce shipping costs for customers and speed up delivery, with most orders received in a matter of days.
However, the UK warehouse is much more than a faster way to distribute goods in the UK. It represents the bridge between Malaysia and the UK, strengthening trade and business connections.
“Building the Malaysia brand in the UK has been a long-time vision for me and I am delighted that OMalaysia is able to bring more of Malaysia to the UK,” says OMalaysia CEO and founder Simon Suresh.
“Working with the Malaysian International Trade Departments, we want to continue to grow Malaysia in the UK and share its products, culture and all the delights it has to offer,” he adds.
Attending a recent lunch at the Oriental Club in London with the British High Commissioner to Malaysia, HE Charles Hay, and the visiting delegate team from Invest Selangor, Simon was enthused that there are more opportunities for Malaysian businesswomen and businessmen in the UK.

Well done Suresh. It’s about time. It’s well overdue. As Ramadhan is literally around the corner the timing could not have been better. Looking forward to place my orders and observing Ramadhan like home away from home. Just a small request, make sure you import some Sarawak delicacies as well such as Laksa Sarawak, kek lapis, gula apong and the like. Shame that they have not packeted mee kolok or mee jawa yet but that’s asking too much perhaos 🤣😂🤣. Once again congratulations and very well done.

Very excited ….. Does this means we can get durians and not pay the earth for the KING OF FRUIT …..!!! I will definitely stocking up for Ramadhan. Good work and hope this will make all authentic Malaysian goods readily available in the UK and at a fraction of the cost. It will also mean that I do not have to cram my suitcase whenever I go back for holidays with Malaysian food stuff. May this venture prospers and goes from strength to strength.
