The Crown Prince of Selangor is commited to help youth entrepreneuers to penetrate the United Kingdom market through a cooperative Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Selangor Youth Community (SAY) and Halal Street UK (Operating as OMalaysia.com in the UK)
London, United Kingdom, 29 June 2022 – Selangor Youth Community (SAY) has entered into a
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Halal Street UK at High Commission of Malaysia
Office in London, United Kingdom today. Also pleased to be present to witness the ceremony is DYTM
Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Alhaj, founder and executive patron of Selangor Youth
Community (SAY).
The main purposed of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreement between Selangor
Youth Community (SAY) and Halal Street UK is to improve opportunities, particularly for young
entrepreneurs with a high-quality product and the potential to market it in the United Kingdom via
the Halal Street UK e-commerce platform. This agreement were signed by Mrs. Nurul Azwa Binti
Mohd Rodzi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Selangor Youth Community, and Mr. Abdullah Muaz Bin
Mohd Norman, Senior Executive of Selangor Youth Community while Mr. Simon K. Suresh and Mr.
Hairul Hafizi Bin Abdul Hamid, the Director and General Manager at Halal Street UK, represented
from Halal Street UK. This platform has been developed not only to provide a solution by offering
Halal products to the UK’s 4.1 million Muslim community, but also to promote and introduce
Malaysian food and culture to all citizens over there.
Halal Street UK is an e-commerce platform for Malaysian businesses to promote their products in the
United Kingdom market. This platform targets business to customer (B2C) sales via an e-commerce
platform, while others target business to business (B2B) sales through the company’s participation in
any food exhibition held in the United Kingdom every year. Until now, at least 900 company vendor
success to register through the e-commerce platform by the support and digitalisation grants by
Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and Malaysia Digital Economy
2 Corporation Sdn Bhd (MDEC).
